  • Pastoral Council Constitution and Bylaws (Approved September 26, 2002)

    • The function of Pastoral Council, as representatives of the community, is to know the individuals of the community; to gather thoughts, feelings and ideas from the community; and to process this data into parish policy.  These policies become the stimuli for programs to be designed and carried out by the pastoral staff and those delegated by the pastor.  In its role as a coordinating and unifying structure, the council works with the pastor and administrative staff as well as the community to fulfill parish needs and to achieve true unity.

    • The Role of the Pastor - The Pastor relates to the council: (1) as a partner with the council in the discernment/consensus process; (2) to ratify council deliberations; and (3) as a member of the council with his own unique ministry of pastoral leadership.

    • The Pastoral Council Constitution and Bylaws

      • There are 12 members on the Council.

      • Members will serve a three-year term.

      • Members will be elected by the members of the parish or, by acceptance of volunteers by the council.

      • Husband and Wife may not serve on the Pastoral Council at the same time.

      • Spouses of the Parish Staff will not be allowed to serve on the Pastoral Council.

      • Council meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the parish hall.

      • Members will be allowed to miss three meetings in one year for legitimate reasons. If any member misses more then three meetings, they will be asked to resign.

      • The council shall elect a chairperson and a secretary.

      • All pastoral council meetings are open to the members of the community.

      • A brief summary of the minutes of each monthly meeting will be put into the Sunday bulletin.
