Pastoral Council Constitution and Bylaws (Approved September 26, 2002)
bullet

The function of Pastoral Council, as representatives of the community, is to know the individuals of the community; to gather thoughts, feelings and ideas from the community; and to process this data into parish policy.  These policies become the stimuli for programs to be designed and carried out by the pastoral staff and those delegated by the pastor.  In its role as a coordinating and unifying structure, the council works with the pastor and administrative staff as well as the community to fulfill parish needs and to achieve true unity.

bullet

The Role of the Pastor - The Pastor relates to the council: (1) as a partner with the council in the discernment/consensus process; (2) to ratify council deliberations; and (3) as a member of the council with his own unique ministry of pastoral leadership.
