Liturgical Ministries

Altar Care Volunteers wash the altar linens and maintain the parish's vestments.  Amount of time needed for this service is dependent on the number of volunteers. Becky McGinnis

Altar Servers

Students must be in fifth grade or older, and they must also be regular communicants.  Altar Servers assist the priest and deacon at weekend liturgies.  Training is available. Deacon Lee Tollet

Blood Drive Volunteers are needed to assist with M.D. Anderson’s mobile blood drive that is conducted in the spring and fall. Donations are credited to St. Catherine’s account and they are available to replace any blood required by parishioners and families at any hospital. Leo Dumas

Birthright Baby Shower Birthright Baby Shower is held on Mother’s Day each year. The proceeds from the shower—money, clothing, diapers, etc—are given to the local Spring Branch Birthright office. Marianne Stearns

Dinner Group This group encourages new acquaintances and strengthens long-standing friendships through the fellowship of sharing a meal. Groups are selected in January and each couple takes turns hosting a dinner (entrée) with other couples providing appetizers, salad, drinks and dessert. Ralph/Joan Higdon

Extraordinary Ministers of 
Holy Communion

Family Fun Day Each fall a parish-wide festival is held for parish families and friends. There are raffles, auctions, games, awards, food and fun. While contributing to the social life and fellowship of the parish, the festival raises funds for facilities/equipment improvements, additions and maintenance. Volunteers
Food For Families Volunteers are needed to provide a meal to parishioners and their families in case of illness or surgery. Carol Maas

Respect Life We pray that all people might have respect for the sanctity of life. There is an Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, every fourth Monday of each month, beginning at 6:30 pm followed by prayers and Benediction at 7:15 pm. Marianne Stearns

Rosary Group Since 1983, the Rosary has been recited at St. Catherine’s Chapel each Thursday night at 7:30 pm. Everyone is invited to join the group to pray for peace and mercy. John Collignon

St. Catherine's Feast Day A coordinator is needed for the annual celebration of our patroness, St. Catherine of Siena. There is food, fun, family, auction, prizes and more fun. This big event is all about fellowship and being part of our community. Volunteers
St. Vincent De Paul Society Food Bank Food and clothing is provided for the needy within our parish. St. Catherine “twin” is the nearby St. Jerome Church. Super Seniors This group provides fellowship to the adults of the parish community (50 years old +).  Meetings are on the second Sunday of the month in the parish hall after the 11:15 mass, followed by lunch, fun and games. Outside activities include trips to the theater, museums, dog and horse tracks, Moody Gardens, etc. All seniors are invited to join the Super Group! Crista Hinojosa

Women's Guild This group of ladies extends their love for God through various activities, spiritual and social, with the parish family.
